Final Week! Are u guys ready???

Yeah!!! We are in the final week...two more days before the presentation. The presentation rehearsal went well. Need to edit some of the information in the slideshow and improve the presentation skill. The presenter will be Cha (our group leader) for Challenge 2 and Aini for Challenge 3. All the best, you guys! Thanx to our mentors, Ivy and Cheng for coming to Uniten. They also visited our lab to see the prototype. Hopefully everything's gonna be OK...Can't wait for the 25th!

Preparing for presentation!

We are now preparing the presentation slide. We will have our presentation rehearsal on Tuesday with our advisor and mentors.

Things that need to be done this week:
1. Arrange for transportation of the porototype
2. Presentation slideshow
3. Presentation rehearsal

All the best to all! (^_^)

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year to our mentors Ivy, Wilson and Cheng...and all people reading this blog!
Hope you guys enjoy the celebration! And happy holidays too! (^_^)

Extended week..

The prototype is ready....Wanna see it?? Here are some pictures taken during testing....

The report was sent to the secretariat on 5th February 2010....YEAAAAHHHH!!!

Looking forward for the presentation on 25th!

Week 12 ( 25 - 31 January 2010)

A stressful week for us!

The model is almost ready! More testing to be done...
And we just knew that the deadline is postponed to next week...GREAT!!
That means we still have time to do more testing on the prototype... :)

This week the girls also had an interview with WANITA magazine. It was great! Thanx to DIGI for giving us this opportunity... If i'm not mistaken, it will be published in March or April. A few pictures taken:

Week 11 ( 18 - 24 January 2010)

Report! Fabrication! Another 1 week left...Lucky we r gonna have our mid semester break next week. Good luck everyone! :)

To all my group members....ALL THE BEST!!

The deadline is around the corner. All the best to all my group members and other competitors from other uni. Really like the lyrics of this song as it gives me motivations. Hope u guys happy to hear it. (^_^)

Week 10 ( 11 - 17 January 2010)

The draft of the report has been reviewed by the mentors. We need to add and improve on few things especially on the analysis of the problem, proposed solutions and discussions parts. I'm still searching on how to calculate the carbon footprint and the cost benefit of the RE system that we design compared to the conventional system. The RE system that we design is solar PV with some added values while the conventional system is diesel generator. Instead of google it, we also borrow books from Uniten's library and ask few lecturers on these matters. Hopefully, all the information gathered can be used to do the comparisons.

P/S: We'd like to announce that we're officially six. Two of our team members drop out due to workload and commitment to other things such as final year project (FYP) and etc. The rest of us will continues doing the challenge until the end! :)

Week 9 ( 4 - 10 January 2010)

We have started doing the draft of the report for both challenges. On Friday, we had a meeting with the mentors which was held in Uniten. The discussion was mostly for the contents of the report. We discussed on the flow of the report and some additional info that should be included in the report. The flow is as follows:

  1. Executive Summary
  2. Introduction
  3. Analysis of the Problem
  4. Methodology
  5. Solution
  6. Results + Impacts
  7. Conclusions
  8. Recommendations
  9. Appendix
  10. References
We'll have further discussions before the deadline of submission. Hopefully the report is ready soon! :)

Week 8 (28 December 2009 - 3 January 2010)

THE ORIGIN would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year, may everyday in 2010 be filled with happiness, laughter, fun, love and everything wonderful... \(^_^)/

This entry is special since it compiles stories of two different years...heheh

Any progress on the projects???

Errrmmmm, like the previous entry....."still working on the fabrication of the working model", sigh~

U know what?? it's not easy to transform design into reality!!
During the design process, creativity and imagination play an important role in the success of the final product. Yeah!! that's right....!!

But nothing impossible in this world. And of course there are problems here and there, but DO NOT GIVE UP!!! We'll try our best to turn the design into reality!!! To all team members, work harder!! there's not much time left!! CHAIYOK....CHAIYOK!! (do i spell correctly?? heheh..)

This blog contains the progress of The Origin's projects in completing the Challenge for Change.
